To celebrate the life of Bridget Bigold and her passion for Catholic education, Assumption School has established the Bridget Bigold Memorial Tuition Bursary.
Bridget Bigold was an extremely passionate and dedicated Catholic educator who lived her faith every day. She began teaching at Assumption School in 1994 and emphasized that teaching was her vocation, not just a job.
Many staff and students remember her Japan days, preparing students for Mass, organizing sports events, amazing Home Economics classes, visits to the cemetery, and eager willingness to lend a helping hand.
She was an active parishioner who participated actively in many groups including the CWL, parish bazaar, Pro-Life, Education Committee, Parent-Teacher Association, and countless others.
The bursary exists to assist families who would like their children to be able to receive a Catholic education at Assumption School but may be unable to do so due to financial constraints.
Bridget was a champion for Catholic education and loved our school. She did whatever she could to ensure that a family who wanted to enrol their children at our school could make it happen.
Each year, at any point in the school year, families may apply for the tuition bursary and recipients will be selected to receive tuition assistance towards their education at Assumption School.
All families interested in receiving bursary assistance must apply online through Apple Financial Services https://www.applefinancialservices.ca
Please contact Assumption School directly if the you need assistance applying online or ifthe application fee is a barrier for you.
Phone: (604) 485-9894 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
While the bursary is available to all families regardless of faith, first preference will be given to practicing Catholic families who demonstrate financial need.
All applications will be kept strictly confidential.
