No, children of all faith backgrounds are welcome to attend Assumption School.
Does my child need to go to Mass and participate in Religion?
Yes, there is a school Mass held every Friday and a Religion class is taught in each grade.
Do you teach the same BC CURRICULUM?
The Ministry of Education in BC mandates our programs and the School maintains a strong commitment to the core Provincial curriculum.
Do you have a max # for class sizes
Yes, and Assumption School tries to ensure that the classes are small in order to offer the best quality education to the students.
Do teachers have the same qualifications?
Yes, all of the teachers at Assumption School have certification to teach in British Columbia.
How much does it cost to attend?
Tuition varies depending on how many children are enrolled in the school and whether or not your are a registered contributor to Assumption Parish. All tuition paid can be claimed as a charitable donation on your Tax return. For example, if you have 2 children attending Assumption school, you will pay $360 per month/$3,600 per year. Your direct tax saving amount will be 20% on the first $200.00 which equals $40.00, and 43.7% on the remaining amount which equals $1,485.80 for a grand total of $1,525.80 in tax savings.
Is there an extra charge to use the bus?
No. There are no additional fees for using the school bus.
What are the advantages of a uniform?
The uniforms are handsome and wearing a uniform to school is cost effective. Most importantly, at school everyone wears the same uniform and is on a level playing field.
Do you have a preschool?
Yes. Assumption Preschool offers programs for both three year old and four year old.
Do you offer after school care?
Yes. after school care is available to all children after each school day.
Do you take special needs students?
Yes and we strive to integrate personalized recommendations into our every-day classroom settings to be able to provide a rich, inclusive learning environment for all of our students.
